Childbirth Education

Why is childbirth education so important? 

This was a question I was recently asked by my dear friend and colleague Kaitlyn. In a country with increasing maternal and infant mortality rates, informed decision-making has never been more important. Everyone should feel confident in the decisions they make regarding birth. This is why I am so passionate about facilitating an empowered, respected, and informed space for my clients and the community around me.  

So what does my Childbirth Education class cover? 

Each of my classes deep dive into anatomy, physiological stages of labor, pain management techniques, and informed-decision making. We use hands-on demonstrations to bring life back to learning. At the end of every class, we create a personalized birth plan that you can share with your team on [M]otherboard Birth. It is my goal is to make sure you leave my classes feeling confident and prepared with the tools you need to navigate childbirth. 

Details

Classes last between 5 to 7 hours and are hosted on the weekends. When you sign up, you have four options for taking your class: 

• In your home (yes, that’s right- pajamas encouraged!) 
• Virtually one on one (partners and support people are encouraged to join) 
• In a group setting near Downtown Dayton
• In a virtual group
